Creative Mess

— Build website for your business. Start with me..

About

Creative Mess isn’t a design school or a tool review site. It’s a place for business owners who need a website that actually works — without the jargon, the overpriced agency pitch, or the panic of doing it alone.

We cover the real stuff: how to pick a platform that fits your budget, layout decisions that don’t confuse visitors, copy that sounds like you, and the small technical bits (domains, hosting, speed) that most guides skip. No fluff. No “just use this template and you’re done.” Just practical, design-first thinking for people who are building their own site or working with a freelancer.

What you’ll find here

Every post is built around one idea: your website should make your business clearer, not more complicated. You’ll get step-by-step walkthroughs for setting up pages that convert, honest comparisons of builders and plugins, and suggestions for avoiding the visual traps that make small sites look amateur.

We also share real before-and-afters, common mistakes we’ve seen (and made), and quick fixes that don’t require a redesign. If you’re tired of generic advice that assumes you have a full design team, this is the spot.

How we put it together

Each guide starts with a question from a real business owner — something like “how do I make my services page not boring?” or “do I really need a separate mobile menu?” We test the solutions ourselves, using the same tools you’d use, and write only what we’d actually tell a friend. No sponsored recommendations, no affiliate-first thinking. If a tool is worth mentioning, we’ll say why — and if it’s not, we’ll say that too.

Contributions are closed for now, but we read every comment. If something’s missing or confusing, let us know. This site grows from what people actually need.
